Rochester NOW Denounces Anti-Abortion Terrorists

Yesterday Dr. Barnett Slepian was assassinated in his own kitchen.
Dr. Slepian was murdered because he performed abortions -- a medical
procedure that is necessary and legal in the United States.
This murder is an example of the heinous tactics used by the
radical right to stop abortions
The members of the Rochester NOW Chapter call upon the local
leaders of the anti-abortion movement to speak out about the murder of
Dr. Slepian and to denounce such terrorist tactics. We call upon these
leaders to stop using language -- such as "baby killer" -- that
creates an atmosphere in which their followers feel justified in
committing murder.
The members of Rochester NOW extend our sincere sympathies to the
family of Dr. Slepian. He truly gave his life for women.
