Joe Scheidler's Anti-Abortion Terrorist
Tactics Not
Welcome in Rochester
May 30, 1998
We're calling upon Bishop Matthew Clark, Mayor William Johnson and
other Rochester elected officials to tell Joe Scheidler, executive
director of the Pro-Life Action League, that his use of violence to
protest abortions is not welcome in Rochester," said Barbara Moore,
President, Rochester NOW.
On April 20th a jury unanimously found Scheidler, Operation Rescue,
and their enterprise, the Pro-Life Action Network, responsible for
over 120 criminal acts, including extortion and physical violence.
"We are not talking about peaceful protestors," said Moore. "These
are people who have vowed to stop abortion 'by any means necessary.'
Those 'means' have included forcible clinic blockades and other
violent acts aimed at shutting down abortion clinics."
NOW will protest Scheidler's tactics when Scheidler speaks Sunday,
May 31, 11:30 a.m. at The Party House, Rochester, NY.
