Earnings by gender
According to preliminary research findings from The Women's
Foundation of Genesee Valley, women's earnings compared with men's are
further behind in Monroe and surrounding counties than in the nation.
In Wayne County, women earn 673 percent of what men earn.
In Ontario County, 61 percent.
In Livingston County, 59 percent.
In Yates County, 59 percent.
In Monroe County, 58 percent.
In Orleans County, 54 percent.
In Genesee County, 54 percent.
The national average is 77 percent, according to the U.S. census.
The local study is funded by The Daisy Marquis Jones Foundation,
Eastman Kodak Co., Mary S. Mulligan Trust and Fred and Floy Willmott
Foundaiton.
